Description
Razor® Segmented Center Blade
The heart of the Razor® Arrow System is its high-tech, tungsten carbide Razor® cutting edge — a 3/4″ blade with a welded-on, abrasion-resistant (AR) 5/8″ cover plate. It’s the same blade designed for Department of Transportation (DOT) snowplow applications.
The segmented blade interlocks the left and right halves for extra rigidity. Because the Razor® cutting edge is two sections rather than the one-piece blade supplied by the OEM, it is safer to install and requires less manpower (one person vs. two).
The blade totals 1-1/8″ in thickness compared to the factory’s 1/2″ 1098 high-carbon steel blade. That is over double the thickness and durability for your Western® PRO PLUS®! The blade also features built-in wear indicators so you know when it’s time to re-order.
Key Straight Blade Features
- Stops Premature Wear – The Razor® Arrow Straight Blade System is your insurance policy against wear and premature failure from impact or operator error.
- Super-Fast Payback – Razor® Arrow pays for itself by reducing downtime. It keeps you in the truck clearing snow instead of in the garage replacing the cutting edge. That means you’ll be making money instead of spending it.
- High-Strength Hardware – The system comes with Grade 8 bolts and Stover lock nuts that guard against loosening. It’s the same high-quality bolt kit used on Winter® products for municipal plows.
The Razor Arrow Straight Blade System features carbide snow plow cutting edges and PlowGuard Jr. guards, ensuring durability and protection against premature wear.
Designed for clearing parking lots, driveways and roadways, the system caters to snowplowing contractors of all sizes across North America. The Razor Arrow System is compatible with loaders, skid steers, and other snow removal equipment making it versatile for different needs. In addition, high-strength hardware such as plow bolts ensure easy blade replacement and reduced downtime.
Superior Carbide Inserts
Winter® Carbide lasts 10 times longer than the OEM’s hardened steel for superior wear resistance. The steel portion of the blade holds the carbide insert in place and the welded-on AR steel cover plate shields the carbide from impact.
Winter® Carbide inserts outlast other Western® straight blade plow blades because of the high quality of our carbide material and the precise tolerances we hold. We also use an advanced induction brazing process to fuse the insert to the steel blade for added strength.
PlowGuard Jr. Guards for Western® Plows
The Razor® Arrow System comes with a pair of DOT-rated PlowGuard Jr. guards on each end of the cutting edge. The guards are designed to protect the blade from uneven and premature wear. They also include welded-on curb protection extensions on each end.
The guard is constructed of heavy plate steel with Winter® Impervium® Carbide along the complete length of the bottom edge. Impervium is… Our proprietary weld technology increases impact resistance, ductility and wear life while providing the same high strength as tungsten carbide. The PlowGuard Jr. is available in 6″ and 8″ heights. Contact Winter to fit the guard to the appropriate gauge.
Razor® Arrow Straight Blade System Includes
- 2 Razor® Blade Sections (Interlocking)
- 2 PlowGuard Jr. Guards
